Tankpot (“de app”) wordt gemaakt door Little Beetle Studio (Daniel Zhuk), Amsterdam. Contact: hello@tankpot.app.
Internet
Mails versturen we via Resend.

Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Tankpot (“the app”) is made by Little Beetle Studio (Daniel Zhuk), Amsterdam. Contact: hello@tankpot.app. This policy explains what happens to your data.
In short: everything you enter or import stays on your phone. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server of its own.
Data stored on your device
- Cars you add (name, fuel type, consumption), app settings and saved calculations.
- If you choose to import a Google Timeline export file: the start and end time, distance and transport type of each trip, the coordinates where it started and ended, and whether Timeline marked those places as Home or Work. Other parts of your Timeline are not kept. Place names looked up for those points are cached on the device. You can delete all of this at any time in Settings → Google Timeline → Delete Timeline data, or by uninstalling the app.
Cars, settings and history may be included in your phone’s Android backup (if you have that enabled). Imported Timeline trips are excluded from cloud backup.
Internet use
- For average fuel prices in the Netherlands, the app downloads public figures from Statistics Netherlands (CBS, opendata.cbs.nl) over HTTPS. No personal data is sent, only the date range. If you prefer not to, choose “My own price”.
- For average prices in other EU countries, the app downloads a small public price file for that country from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). Only the country code is in the request.
- To choose the country for a typed distance, the app reads the country of the mobile network your phone is connected to. This needs no location permission. It is read once when the app starts, and is not stored or sent anywhere.
- To show where imported trips started and ended, the app asks your phone’s built-in location service (Android’s Geocoder, provided by Google on most phones) for the street, town and country at those points. Only the coordinates are sent, and each point is looked up once. This only happens after you import a Timeline file.
Sharing
Nothing is shared unless you choose to. When you tap “Send message”, “Copy” or “Make a Tikkie”, the text or amount goes to the app you select (for example WhatsApp or Tikkie), which handles it under its own privacy policy.
This website and the beta sign-up
The website has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. It runs on Cloudflare. If you sign up for the beta, we keep your email address, your language and the date in Cloudflare (Workers KV) so we can send you the Google Play link. Emails are sent through Resend. We first send a confirmation email; if you don't confirm, your address disappears after 7 days. You can unsubscribe with the link in every email, and your address is deleted right away. We only use your address for the Tankpot beta, and pass it to Google Play to add you as a tester.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
